Write appeals and collect signatures and protest against rainforest destruction. They can be sent to governments, timber companies, and companies using tropical wood. Influence people around you by pointing out to them the importance to think before buying . Invest some money in the future of our planet! We need all the help we can get in order to be able to run the projects and start new ones. When you transfer money to our rainforest bank account (5654-5718) you receive a certificate showing how much you have saved. And it's a lot! On an area large as a football field you save a piece of the jaguar's hunting ground, the paw of a puma, half a parrot, a piece of an ozelot, the tapir's tracks, the howler monkey's favorite tree, at least 20 different humming birds, innumerable numbers of insects, fungi, microorganisms, plant species, at least 200 different orchids, hundreds of different tree species Rainforest is a perfect gift! Why not give your friends and family a piece of rainforest? It's certainly a gift that grows! We will issue the certificate in whatever name you wish. 1000 square meters cost 80 SEK, a football field no more than 400 SEK and if you can spend 800 SEK you save a whole hectare! However, you will not have a name plate on your piece of land, and also no fence around it, since the animals need to be able to wander along freely! By becoming a member, you receive our membership magazine ("Grodkväket", only in Swedish language) 6 times a year, with information about how our activities are going and a series of articles about things happening in the rainforest. Now and then letter campaigns appear, in which you can participate if you want. The membership fee for 2007 is 100 SEK for children and students, 150 SEK for adults and 200 SEK for group membership. Our American sister organization, Save the Rainforest (e-mail: saverfn@mail.cybermesa.com ; web page: http://www.lascruces.com/~saverfn/), offers rainforest courses in several Central and South American countries. It is also possible to work as a volunteer in our project countries. You will have to pay for the trip and a small fee for the accommodation. Be prepared not to go on a vacation. Basic knowledge of the Spanish language and good English is recommended. If you are interested in going to Ecuador, please write an e-mail to Michael McColm (mccolm@jatunsacha.org); Monteverde (www.acmonteverde.com ) Costa Rica can also be reached by e-mail (acmmcl@sol.racsa.co.CR). |
